It matters cause my entire game collection is on Steam. I think you could answer that yourself by researching what the oldest game on Steam is, for I feel you'll find it's quite a bit younger than SC2K which is older than I am. As far as how likely SC2K is to appear on Steam, But I do think I remember it working for SC3K which I bought on GoG along with SC2K. Well, sometimes, I mean, for me, the steam overlay didn't work for SC4 even though I did buy it on Steam, so, I imagine there will be some cases where it wont work for non-Steam games too.
